Chapter 31 -- Ada, Ada, bo-bada, Banana-fana fo fada

Things go back to normal in the Sperie household after the new additions to the family settle in. Kadance gains a new friend, Cruz, who in a short few hours becomes her boyfriend. Almost immediately afterwards, he excuses himself and heads home to promptly become a YA.

Carter, however; being the bookworm he is, decides to spend his evenings at the local library.

His intentions might not be to learn, though. As he looks out the window, he waits for Benni to acknowledge him.

Once she does, they spend sometime getting to know each other, and showing the other their best "derp" face.

It's how you get all the ladies, Carter would want you to know.

On nights like these, Zal spends her time at the easel. She may not be any good, but she's just a child and it's fun for her. Much better than sleeping anyways.

Quynh, while artistic like the rest of the family, disagrees. She'd rather listen to stories about horses and unicorns. Grandpap is the best at storytelling, she thinks.

Sometimes Carter tells her stories too, but his aren't nearly as animated as Grandpaps. After storytime, the teens help the adults teach the Ada's (Adabella, Adamina, Adalyn) their basics.

Lukas would rather do something else productive. The don had this delivered straight from China and gave him explicit instructions: learn it and you will earn a raise. It's important to know martial arts in the criminal track just in case he ever needs to fight an Asian militia. Until that happens, however; he will bitch slap it all he pleases.

While he's practicing, his nosferatu daughters age up quietly.

Quynh gains the Family-Oriented trait.

And Zal gains the Rebellious trait.
