Chapter 14 -- Falsely False Promises

The community of Brooklyn Heights honors S for her valuable contributions to the city by giving her and Tim an all-expenses-paid vacation to wherever they want. On Saturday morning, they hop on the taxi to the airport for their chosen destination (Champs Les Sims, France). Lukas takes the time to head over to the school to sign up for the Sports Club and Debate Team.

As he is leaving his phone rings... it's a call from Gena!

"Hey Lukey, I heard you're parents skipped town for the weekend. What do you think about throwing a huge party for everyone?"

Lukas stifles a giggle at the outrageous idea. He doesn't have any friends except for Gena, mostly because everyone else makes fun of him for the neurotic fits he throws from time to time.

"Lukas, I'm serious!" she pleads, "Besides, a set of triplets just moved to town and that Blossom kid with the awesome hair just had his birthday yesterday. Isn't it Denver and Noel's birthday today too? Please, please, please!!!," she wined.

"Fiiiiiine," Lukas groaned, "As long as you set it up and invite everyone. I don't need people laughing in my face."

As Gena squealed in delight, Lukas hung up in fear of going deaf. Looking at his phone in amazement of what Gena could convince him to do, he started pondering how to go about telling the twins. First stop would be getting two cakes.

They were already awake when he got home so he hunched between them and explained his plan.

"Just because mom and dad left for France doesn't mean you can't have a birthday party right?" he asked as the twins eyes lit up, "But what fun is a party if you guys are still kids?"

As the kids slowly got the idea they got more and more excited.

They ran over to the cakes and Lukas tried his best to be a good older brother.

Denver was first...

And he grew up into a teen.

Noel was second...

She grew up with some flair and some interesting facial structure.

Then the birthday festivities began. Denver told the scariest and creepiest ghost story he could think of while Noel shook in her boots.

Lukas was... well you know. What he is always doing these days.

But wait! Could it be?

The last and final potion! He actually did it!

As he was going to go freshen up for the evening, Peaches cornered him.

"How could you THINK of throwing a party without asking ME?" she screeched.

"The world doesn't revolve around you. Gena and I planned this. What is the big issue?"

"You are SUCH a freakin YETI. God I HATE you!" she said before running off.

After his shower, the three teens watched a bit of TV before their guests were due.

The first guest was... the paparazzi? Shit. Already this early into the legacy? The Watcher isn't amused.

Gena shows up first with Scientes Omnem who is sporting some odd eye liner. They share the first dance of the night in the middle of the kitchen.

While Lukas awkwardly looks around in his bathing suit, Denver musters up the courage to ask Praesentia Omnem to dance.

And that awesome haired kid, Kenton Blossom dances with Potentia, the last of the triplets.

They change up partners from time to time but everyone is having a blast. They get a call from a friend saying their neighbors called the cops but they all decide to wait it out (they never come).

Lukas finishes up a dance with Praesentia and gathers the courage to ask Gena for a dance.

Gena meanwhile has eyes for someone else.

Cutting the dance short, she motions for Denver to come over and they hit it off right away. Lukas is not pleased.

Instead, he ruins his sibling's moment and calls everyone upstairs. He tells them he is going to set off an explosion, right in the house!

He runs off to find Peaches and tells her he's going to make her real in front of all his friends as an apology for not including her in the party.

Of course, everyone just thinks he's going to set fire to the wood floor. They can't see the creepy life-like doll and neither do they know his false promises to her.

He hands the potion to Peaches and gives her his best autonomous sneer. Everyone gasps as they only see a floating potion in the air. They wait for it to drop and prepare to run when suddenly...

...a young girl materializes out of thin air.

Lukas shoots a glare up at the Watcher in confusion. He wanted to destroy her, but now that she's real... he thinks she's actually kind of pretty.

  1. I wasn't expecting that! I was sure he'd find a way to kill her. What's he going to do now? Peaches is going to be harder to handle as a real person. Poor Lukas.

  2. Denver is seriously beautiful. And I never noticed how much of a rockin' bod Lukas has. LOL.

I'm interested to see where the Lukas and Peaches relationship goes... and Blue_And_Purple makes a good point: Peaches seems like she is going to be a handful.

  3. I concur with Giga. What a bod! O_O

Also totally didn't see that happening with Peaches. But she's gorgeous. I loooove her hair. She kinda makes me think of a siren, y'know?

Can't wait for your next chapter. I'm so loving Lukas.
