Lukas learns to let his twin siblings sit together on the bus.
While the kids are at school and S is sleeping in, Tim rolls around town in his last perk of being Daddy Daycare. He knows it's hideous, but it's the only car they have.
After school, Lukas starts his plan.
"Peaches. No more pillow fights. No more tea time. No more gossiping. No more goofing around. The fun has got to stop," he said, pausing.
For a moment Peaches looks crestfallen until Lukas picks up his speech again.
"You want to be my only friend, but yet you are a figment of my imagination. If you truly want to be there for me, you must be real. Today, I am going to start looking for a cure to your imaginary disorder."
As he gets started on making the perfect potion for his perilous plan, Peaches shows her excitement. Little does she know Lukas' real plan.
Little by little, he perfects his potion. He's created some other handy ones, but so far none will do. If this potion is to work correctly, Peaches would have to be totally annihilated after drinking it.
She periodically checks up on his work, as anxious as anyone would be if they thought they were going to become real. She wonders what each of his potions so far do.
S wonders the same thing, only is a lot more worried about it all.
"Lukas honey, you're going to blow up the whole house with all those chemicals. What are you trying to accomplish?"
"This is a laboratory Mom, you're not in the proper attire. Only after you are safely decontaminated will I answer your questions."
S changes into the "necessary" clothing and takes a seat to read "The Dragon's Age" while secretly watching Lukas to make sure he's alright. It's her favorite book and she hopes they'll make an RPG out of it someday.
Tim wonders where the whole family has gotten to. He finds S and Denver in Lukas' room. Taking a moment to look around, he shows his excitement at Lukas' work.
Denver is sitting on the floor pretending to ask his mother for help with his homework. He'd never admit that he thinks Lukas' chemistry set is cool so he comes up with random reasons to be around whenever Lukas is using it.
Noel on the other hand could care less about chemistry. She races to finish her homework so she can have some fun with her new costume chest.
After changing into her PJs, she dives head first into the chest...
...and comes out a princess.
Denver joins in and takes on the roll as creating a damsel in distress. Unfortunately for him, this princess is fearless.
After their charade, they find Lukas is still creating concoctions.
They head downstairs that night to sleep in their parents room in fear that Lukas will really make their house go "boom". S is even more concerned now that her younger children are afraid of his endeavors.
Upstairs, Lukas does create an explosion, though not powerful enough to harm anyone, it would char them a bit. He didn't realize he would come this close to fulfilling his plan this early in experimenting.
He only needs to tweak it a little more.
As dawn rolls around the next morning, S finds Lukas still up experimenting. She wonders if he even realizes that it's his birthday today.

Notes: You can probably guess what is going to happen, but don't. I am super excited to find out what Lukas looks like as a teen.
Lukas is hilariously insane.
ReplyDeleteAnd yay for DA references!
I had noticed the Warden one while searching a cave previously but never the book. I got excited a little :)
